The AI Delivery Lead is one of the most critical and misunderstood roles in enterprise AI today. Most organisations are hiring classic project managers and calling them AI delivery leads — and failing. This role requires someone who is technically hands-on with AI tooling (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) while simultaneously owning sprint delivery, stakeholder management and the commercial outcome of AI programmes. Role & Responsibilities: • Own end-to-end delivery of AI programmes — from initiation through production deployment and value realisation • Work hands-on with AI development tools: Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Azure AI Foundry — you write prompts, review AI-generated code and validate outputs, not just manage people who do • Run agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives — with a team that includes data engineers, ML engineers and AI application developers • Bridge the gap between business stakeholders (who want outcomes) and AI engineers (who build systems) — translating commercial requirements into technical delivery plans • Own the AI delivery risk register: hallucination risks, data quality risks, model drift, integration failures — you understand these deeply enough to mitigate them • Define and track AI-specific delivery metrics: model accuracy, inference latency, cost per run, user adoption rate, business value delivered • Manage AI vendor relationships: cloud providers, model providers, tooling vendors — negotiating commercial terms and SLAs • Lead post-deployment monitoring and iteration — AI systems degrade; you own the process of keeping them reliable Required Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of technology delivery experience with at least 2 years specifically delivering AI or ML products in production • Hands-on experience with at least one AI development workflow: prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG pipeline development or agentic AI systems • Proficiency with AI coding tools: Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor — used daily, not occasionally • Strong Azure or AWS knowledge at the infrastructure level — you understand compute costs, latency trade-offs and deployment architectures • Proven track record of shipping AI products to real users — not just prototypes or proof-of-concepts • Excellent communication skills — you can explain model confidence intervals to a CFO and explain business constraints to a data scientist • Familiarity with responsible AI principles: bias assessment, explainability, data privacy in AI pipelines What We Offer: • Senior delivery role on high-visibility AI programmes with real business impact • Salary £90,000–£120,000 depending on experience • Remote-first with occasional client or office visits • Direct exposure to C-suite AI strategy decisions The AI Delivery Lead is the person who makes AI transformation actually happen — not in a pitch deck, but in production. If you have shipped AI systems, worked hands-on with the tools, and can hold a room of engineers and executives at the same time, this role was designed for you.
