The AI Solutions Architect designs the technical blueprint for enterprise AI systems — not the day-to-day delivery (that is the AI Delivery Lead) but the foundational decisions about how AI integrates with data infrastructure, applications and business processes. This role requires deep technical knowledge across the full AI stack combined with the ability to translate architecture decisions into business outcomes. Role & Responsibilities: • Define AI platform architecture for enterprise clients: model selection, retrieval infrastructure, orchestration layers, data pipelines, monitoring and governance • Design RAG systems: vector database selection, chunking strategies, embedding models, reranking approaches and evaluation frameworks • Architect multi-model AI systems using Azure AI Foundry, Databricks Mosaic AI or AWS Bedrock — selecting the right model for each use case • Define agentic AI architectures: tool-calling patterns, memory systems, multi-agent orchestration using LangGraph, AutoGen or Claude tool use API • Produce architecture design documents, reference architectures and technology decision records • Conduct architecture reviews on AI systems built by delivery teams — providing technical assurance before production deployment • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and models — staying current with model releases, capability benchmarks and new architectural patterns • Work with data architects to ensure AI systems have reliable, governed data foundations • Define AI security architecture: prompt injection defences, PII handling in AI pipelines, model access controls and audit logging Required Skills & Experience: • 7+ years of solutions architecture experience with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML systems • Deep knowledge of LLM architecture patterns: RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, function calling, embeddings and vector search • Hands-on experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Databricks Model Serving or equivalent • Strong data architecture knowledge: you can design the data pipelines that feed AI systems, not just the AI layer itself • Experience with vector databases: Pinecone, Azure AI Search, ChromaDB, Weaviate or pgvector • Ability to produce clear architecture diagrams and present complex technical decisions to non-technical executives • Experience with responsible AI frameworks: bias testing, explainability, model monitoring and governance What We Offer: • Senior technical role with direct influence on AI platform strategy • Salary £110,000–£140,000 plus benefits • Remote-first with engagement travel • Access to latest AI models and preview programmes The AI Solutions Architect ensures AI systems are built correctly from the ground up — scalable, secure and aligned to business architecture. If you design AI systems that survive contact with production, this role is yours.
