A US FinTech company processing high-volume payment transactions is hiring an AWS Solutions Architect to design and govern their cloud infrastructure. You will work across product, security and engineering teams to ensure AWS environments are architecturally sound, secure and cost-optimised as the company scales toward enterprise payment volumes. Role & Responsibilities: • Design AWS architectures for payment processing, fraud detection and financial reporting workloads • Define infrastructure-as-code standards using Terraform and AWS CDK across multiple AWS accounts and regions • Architect for high availability, disaster recovery and regulatory compliance (PCI DSS, SOC 2) • Lead AWS Well-Architected Reviews across the engineering organisation • Design secure network architecture: VPCs, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, WAF and Shield • Evaluate and recommend AWS services for new product capabilities including AI/ML (SageMaker, Bedrock) • Partner with the security team on IAM design, SCPs, GuardDuty and Security Hub configuration • Mentor engineers on AWS best practices and contribute to the cloud centre of excellence Required Skills & Experience: • 6+ years of AWS experience with a solutions or cloud architecture focus • AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Professional required; AWS Certified Security Specialty preferred • Expert Terraform skills and experience managing multi-account AWS environments with Control Tower • Strong Python or Go scripting for infrastructure automation • Deep knowledge of AWS networking, security and compute services • Experience designing for PCI DSS or SOC 2 compliance in a financial services environment • Familiarity with AWS data services: RDS, Aurora, Redshift, S3, Glue or Kinesis What We Offer: • Fully remote role on US hours (EST/CST preferred) • Salary $130,000–$160,000 plus equity and annual bonus • High-stakes, high-visibility work on financial infrastructure that processes real money • AWS partnership access and certification reimbursement For a cloud architect who wants to own the AWS foundation of a scaling FinTech — where architecture decisions have immediate, measurable business impact.
