A global professional services firm with operations across 40 countries is hiring an Azure Data Architect to lead the design and governance of their enterprise data platform on Microsoft Azure. You will work with cross-functional teams to define architecture standards, evaluate emerging Azure services and ensure data infrastructure is secure, scalable and cost-optimised. Role & Responsibilities: • Lead the architecture design for Azure-based data platforms including ADLS Gen2, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric and Databricks • Produce architecture design documents, decision records and reference architectures for global reuse • Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical assurance across data engineering projects • Define data security, networking and compliance architecture aligned to enterprise standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2) • Evaluate and recommend Azure data services, including preview services and roadmap items • Collaborate with cloud platform, security and application architecture teams to ensure alignment • Mentor senior engineers and establish an internal data architecture community of practice • Engage with Microsoft account teams and participate in private preview programmes Required Skills & Experience: • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud architecture roles • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) — required • Deep knowledge of Azure data services: ADLS, Synapse, ADF, Databricks, Event Hub, Service Bus • Experience designing for enterprise requirements: security, networking, compliance, cost management • Ability to produce clear architecture documentation and present to senior technical and business stakeholders • Microsoft Fabric or Databricks experience is a strong advantage • Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203 or DP-700) is a plus What We Offer: • Remote-first with occasional travel to client sites in India and the UK • Salary ₹40–60L based on experience • Global exposure across diverse industries and enterprise environments • Strong learning culture with Microsoft partnership and certification support Ideal for a senior data engineer ready to step into a pure architecture role — owning the design and standards rather than the day-to-day pipeline delivery.
