A UK FinTech company processing millions of transactions monthly is hiring a dbt Analytics Engineer to own the transformation layer of their modern data stack. You will sit between data engineering and analytics, turning raw Snowflake data into clean, documented, tested data models that analysts and data scientists can trust. Role & Responsibilities: • Own the dbt project end-to-end: model design, documentation, testing and deployment • Build staging, intermediate and mart models across core FinTech domains: payments, fraud, customer lifecycle and revenue • Write comprehensive dbt tests — not-null, unique, referential integrity and custom business logic tests • Implement and maintain dbt docs and the data catalogue as the source of truth for data definitions • Optimise Snowflake query performance through materialisation strategy, clustering and incremental model design • Collaborate with analysts to understand reporting requirements and translate them into data model changes • Work with data engineers on source model agreements and upstream data quality • Evaluate and implement dbt packages (dbt-utils, dbt-expectations, Elementary) and Looker LookML alignment Required Skills & Experience: • 3+ years of analytics engineering or data engineering experience • Strong dbt skills — you have owned a production dbt project, not just contributed to one • Proficiency with Snowflake and SQL; Python is a plus • Experience with Looker, Tableau or equivalent BI tool and understanding of semantic layer concepts • Familiarity with FinTech data domains: payments, subscriptions, fraud or lending preferred • Understanding of Git workflows and CI/CD for dbt (dbt Cloud CI or GitHub Actions) • dbt Certified Analytics Engineer is advantageous What We Offer: • Fully remote role based in the UK • Salary £65,000–£80,000 depending on experience • High data maturity environment — you will inherit a well-structured stack and be expected to improve it • Collaborative team with strong analytics engineering culture For an analytics engineer who takes pride in data model design, documentation and test coverage — and wants to work in a FinTech environment where data quality directly impacts financial decisions.
