A European eCommerce group operating across 15 markets is hiring a GCP Data Engineer to build and scale their Google Cloud data platform. You will design and deliver pipelines that process customer behaviour, order and inventory data at scale, enabling personalisation, pricing and operational analytics across the business. Role & Responsibilities: • Design and build data ingestion pipelines from eCommerce platforms, payment processors and logistics systems into BigQuery via Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage and Dataflow • Build and maintain dbt models for eCommerce domains: customer lifetime value, funnel analytics, inventory and revenue reporting • Develop Apache Beam / Dataflow jobs for real-time event stream processing from web and mobile platforms • Optimise BigQuery performance: partitioning, clustering, materialised views and slot reservation strategies • Orchestrate workflows using Cloud Composer (managed Airflow) with alerting and SLA monitoring • Implement data quality frameworks and lineage tracking using dbt tests and Dataplex • Collaborate with ML engineers on feature pipelines for recommendation and demand forecasting models • Manage GCP data platform governance: IAM, VPC Service Controls and column-level security in BigQuery Required Skills & Experience: • 4+ years of data engineering experience with strong GCP and BigQuery expertise • Proficiency with dbt and experience owning a production dbt project on BigQuery • Hands-on Apache Beam or Dataflow experience for stream or batch processing • Strong SQL skills for complex analytical queries in BigQuery • Python for pipeline development and automation • Experience with Cloud Composer, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage and GCS-based data lakes • Google Professional Data Engineer certification preferred What We Offer: • Fully remote role open to Europe and India-based candidates • Salary €65,000–€85,000 based on experience and location • Exposure to high-volume eCommerce data across multiple European markets • Modern GCP data stack with strong engineering culture A strong fit for a data engineer with BigQuery production experience who wants to work on meaningful consumer data at scale in a fast-moving eCommerce environment.
