A Series C SaaS company with $80M in ARR is hiring a Head of Data Engineering to scale their data infrastructure from startup foundation to enterprise-grade platform. You will lead a team of 8 engineers, own the data platform roadmap and partner directly with the CTO and VP of Product to make data a core competitive advantage. Role & Responsibilities: • Lead, grow and develop a team of 8 data engineers across India and the US • Own the data platform strategy covering ingestion, transformation, storage and serving layers on Databricks and AWS • Define the technical roadmap for moving from ad hoc pipelines to a governed, product-grade data platform • Establish data engineering best practices: testing, documentation, SLAs, on-call and incident response • Partner with data science, analytics and product teams to deliver shared data infrastructure • Drive vendor evaluation and tooling decisions (orchestration, data quality, observability) • Report to the CTO and present data platform health and roadmap to executive stakeholders • Recruit senior engineers and build a high-performance, globally distributed team Required Skills & Experience: • 8+ years of data engineering experience, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role • Proven experience scaling a data platform on Databricks and/or AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3) • Deep technical knowledge of distributed systems, pipeline architecture and data modelling • Strong hiring and people management skills — you have built and grown engineering teams before • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or product company preferred • Comfort communicating technical strategy to non-technical executives • Databricks or AWS certifications are a plus What We Offer: • Fully remote role operating on US hours (EST/PST overlap required) • Salary $160,000–$200,000 plus equity at Series C valuation • Executive-level visibility with direct CTO partnership • Budget to hire and build the team you need A rare opportunity to step into a data leadership role at a company that has product-market fit, strong revenue growth and a clear path to IPO — and build the data infrastructure that will take them there.
