Head of Technical Training — APAC

A global IT services company with delivery centres across India, Singapore, Australia and Japan is hiring a Head of Technical Training for the APAC region. You will lead a team of 12 trainers and instructional designers, own the regional technical learning strategy and partner with business leaders to ensure the 8,000-strong APAC workforce stays at the leading edge of cloud, data and AI skills. Role & Responsibilities: • Lead the APAC technical training function: team management, budget ownership, vendor relationships and programme governance • Define the regional technical skills strategy aligned to business priorities across cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), data engineering, AI and cybersecurity • Build and manage relationships with Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks and Salesforce training partners and certification programmes • Oversee the design and delivery of technical learning programmes: instructor-led training, e-learning, bootcamps and certification preparation • Partner with account leaders, practice heads and HR business partners to identify and close technical skills gaps that affect client delivery • Drive the certification programme: targets, tracking, incentives and reporting to regional leadership • Manage the APAC training budget of SGD 2M+ across internal delivery costs, external vendor spend and platform subscriptions • Report training outcomes, certification metrics and skills gap analysis to the APAC CTO and Global Head of L&D Required Skills & Experience: • 10+ years of experience in technical training, L&D or technology consulting with 4+ years in a leadership role • Deep understanding of cloud, data and AI technology landscapes — you can hold a credible conversation with senior engineers and architects • Proven experience building and leading high-performing training teams in a multinational environment • Experience managing large training vendor relationships: Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud or equivalent • Strong commercial acumen — you understand the link between skills investment and revenue delivery in an IT services context • Experience operating across APAC markets: India, Singapore, ANZ or Japan • Relevant technology certifications (Azure, AWS, Databricks) are advantageous for credibility with technical stakeholders What We Offer: • Hybrid role based in Singapore — relocation support available for qualified international candidates • Salary SGD 150,000–200,000 based on experience plus annual performance bonus • Leadership of a well-resourced training function with genuine strategic influence • Global career pathways within a top-tier IT services organisation A senior leadership role for a technically-grounded L&D professional who understands that in IT services, skills are the product — and who wants to lead the function that keeps a global workforce competitive.
