A leading UK data consultancy with a portfolio of FTSE 250 clients is looking for a Microsoft Fabric Architect to join their specialist data practice. You will lead the technical design of Fabric-based data platforms across multiple client engagements, working alongside delivery teams and client stakeholders to shape architecture decisions and accelerate adoption. Role & Responsibilities: • Define end-to-end data platform architectures using Microsoft Fabric: Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Real-Time Analytics and Power BI • Lead client discovery and architecture workshops, producing detailed design documents and capability assessments • Evaluate migration paths from Azure Synapse, SQL Server and legacy on-premises environments to Fabric • Design governance frameworks covering OneLake data organisation, workspace hierarchy and Microsoft Purview integration • Advise on DP-600 certification pathways and upskilling strategies for client engineering teams • Collaborate with Azure Synapse, ADF and Power BI teams on hybrid architectures during transition periods • Contribute to the consultancy's Fabric Centre of Excellence, building reusable patterns and accelerators Required Skills & Experience: • 6+ years of experience in data architecture or senior data engineering roles • Deep expertise across Microsoft Fabric workloads and the broader Azure data platform • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) — required • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, ADF, ADLS Gen2 and Power BI Premium • Ability to produce clear architecture diagrams and present technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders • Consulting or client-facing experience strongly preferred • Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305) or Azure Data Engineer (DP-203/DP-700) certifications are a plus What We Offer: • Remote-first with optional co-working space in London or Bengaluru • Salary £75,000–£95,000 plus consultancy bonus structure • Dedicated training budget and access to Microsoft Fabric preview programmes • Opportunity to shape the firm's Fabric practice from the ground up Ideal for a senior engineer or architect who has delivered Fabric or Synapse platforms at scale and wants to work across diverse industries rather than a single internal stack.
