A global insurance group with a data and analytics centre in Gurugram is hiring a Power BI Lead Developer to own the design, development and governance of their enterprise Power BI environment. You will lead a small team of BI developers, set reporting standards and deliver dashboards that drive underwriting, claims and financial decision-making. Role & Responsibilities: • Lead the development of Power BI reports and dashboards across insurance domains: underwriting, claims, actuarial and finance • Design and build enterprise semantic models using Power BI Premium and Azure Analysis Services • Write complex DAX measures and calculations for insurance KPIs: loss ratio, combined ratio, premium earned and claims frequency • Optimise Power BI dataset performance: aggregations, incremental refresh, query folding and composite models • Define and enforce Power BI governance standards: workspace structure, deployment pipelines, row-level security and certification • Mentor and review the work of 2–3 junior BI developers • Manage the Power BI Premium capacity and monitor usage, performance and cost • Collaborate with data engineers on the Semantic Layer between Azure data platform and Power BI Required Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of Power BI development experience, including enterprise-scale deployments • Expert-level DAX skills — you write complex time intelligence, statistical and financial measures confidently • Strong Power Query / M skills for data transformation • Experience with Power BI Premium: deployment pipelines, XMLA endpoint, large dataset storage • Azure data platform familiarity: Synapse, Fabric, ADLS Gen2 or AAS • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) certification required • Insurance or financial services domain knowledge is a strong advantage What We Offer: • Hybrid working — 3 days Gurugram office, 2 days remote • Salary ₹25–38L based on experience • Enterprise-scale Power BI environment with Premium capacity and 500+ active users • Microsoft partnership access and certification support For a Power BI developer who has outgrown building reports and wants to own an enterprise BI platform — including the governance, performance and team leadership that comes with it.
