A US enterprise SaaS company with a product used by over 500 enterprise clients is hiring a QA Automation Lead to build and govern their test automation strategy. You will lead a team of 4 QA engineers, define the automation framework architecture and drive the shift-left quality culture that lets the engineering team ship with confidence. Role & Responsibilities: • Define and own the test automation strategy across UI, API and performance testing layers • Build and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright (primary) and Selenium (legacy support) • Design API test suites using Python requests, pytest and Postman / Newman for REST and GraphQL APIs • Build performance and load test scripts using k6 or JMeter for critical user journeys • Integrate automated test suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines with quality gates and test result dashboards • Lead a team of 4 QA engineers: code reviews, framework standards, sprint planning and performance management • Drive shift-left practices: BDD with Cucumber, contract testing with Pact and developer unit test coverage targets • Build and maintain test environments, test data management and mock service infrastructure Required Skills & Experience: • 6+ years of QA engineering experience with 2+ years in a lead or senior automation role • Expert Playwright knowledge — you have architected a production Playwright framework, not just written scripts • Selenium experience for legacy browser compatibility testing • Strong Python skills for test framework development and CI integration • Azure DevOps experience: pipeline integration, test result publishing and quality gates • API testing expertise: REST, GraphQL, contract testing principles • Experience with performance testing tools: k6, JMeter or Gatling • ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer or equivalent is preferred What We Offer: • Fully remote role on IST hours with US EST overlap • Salary $80,000–$100,000 based on experience • Ownership of the entire QA automation strategy — not inheriting someone else's framework • Strong engineering culture with investment in quality as a first-class concern For a QA engineer who has outgrown writing tests and wants to architect the quality strategy — building the framework, leading the team and influencing engineering culture.
