A UAE government entity undergoing a major digital transformation programme is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to build the analytics and reporting layer of their new cloud data platform. You will work with Snowflake, dbt and Power BI to deliver trusted data models and executive dashboards for government decision-making. Role & Responsibilities: • Design and build dbt data models covering key government domains: finance, HR, operations and citizen services • Create and maintain Power BI semantic models, reports and dashboards for executive and operational audiences • Implement data quality frameworks using dbt tests, ensuring government reporting meets audit standards • Collaborate with data engineers on source data agreements and upstream pipeline quality • Define and document data definitions, business rules and KPI logic in the data catalogue • Optimise Snowflake query performance through materialisation strategy, warehouse sizing and clustering • Support the BI team with DAX, Power Query and Power BI governance best practices • Contribute to the data literacy and self-service analytics programme across government departments Required Skills & Experience: • 4+ years of analytics engineering or BI development experience • Strong dbt skills with experience owning a production dbt project • Proficiency with Snowflake and SQL; Power BI expertise including DAX and Power Query • Experience working in a government, public sector or regulated enterprise environment preferred • Familiarity with data governance, cataloguing and lineage tracking • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) certification preferred • Arabic language skills are advantageous but not required What We Offer: • Onsite role based in Dubai with competitive government-linked benefits package • Tax-free salary AED 25,000–35,000 per month • Generous annual leave, health insurance and end-of-service gratuity • Long-term programme with multi-year engagement and career progression opportunities Ideal for an analytics engineer looking to make a meaningful impact on public sector digital transformation in one of the world's most ambitious government tech programmes.
